We’re excited to announce our new interview series, Décor Talk, where we interview our favorite influencers and decorators about their home styling inspiration and tips!
To kick off the series, we got the chance to speak with Aubrey, of @helloimaubs. We fell in love with her chill boho style the moment we found her account and have loved following and collabing with her ever since.
Hi Aubrey! Tell us a bit about yourself?
My name is Aubrey, and I’m a born and raised Floridian. I currently live in a little bungalow near the beach with my husband and two dogs Remy and Lela, but we are looking to move out of state to a place with lots of mountains and hiking soon!
How would you describe your décor style?
Honestly, I think my decor style has so many different styles included! I like modern pieces mixed with vintage finds and some coastal pieces mixed with lofty vibes. I love anything bohemian, but also like to add in some farmhouse decor here and there. So yeah, there’s lots of different styles in my home. Some people may think that mixing styles is a no no when it comes to decorating, but I think it’s the perfect way to express your style and create a space you love!
Where does your décor inspo come from?
I get a lot of my inspiration from other home decor influencers and hours of Pinterest scrolling. I’ll usually see something that inspires me and try to figure out how I can make it my own.
What are your home décor essentials?
You can’t go wrong with having lots of candles, books, vases, and plants for shelf or tabletop styling. I find that these items allow you to create a lived-in space while adding some visual interest and character.
Any décor tips you can share for someone wanting to refresh their space?
Shop your own home! Rotate decor items from room to room regularly to keep your spaces fresh and different (plus, it costs you nothing!) Fresh flowers or a new plant is always bound to freshen up a space as well.
Describe your perfect Saturday?
My perfect Saturday would consist of having a big breakfast with lots of coffee with my husband, tending to my vegetable garden, taking a dip in the pool, listening to my favorite records, taking my dogs for a sunset walk on the beach, and ending the night with a movie (most definitely Harry Potter) on the couch.
Any dream home upgrades or renos?
My dream home hands-down is an a frame cabin in the mountains that we can completely renovate top to bottom. My dream renovation right now would be to add a giant bathtub in our master bathroom.
