In this week’s edition of Décor Talk, we got to chat with Kendra from @homespuncottage. We fell in love with her warm and cozy home, and we were so excited to get her tips on creating a welcoming space at any budget.
Hi Kendra! Tell us a bit about yourself?
I am a stay-at-home mom of 7 little loves, we homeschool, and homemaking is my passion! I was born and raised here in Tennessee and my husband is from Massachusetts. We love traveling to New England every chance we get! I’m an antique lover and flea markets are my favorite. Coffee is my love language! ;)
How would you describe your décor style?
Neutral, antique, cottage style- with a European garden twist. Is that a thing? Ha!
Where does your décor inspo come from?
I draw inspiration from many areas but I think lately I’m most drawn towards the simplicity of French country style. Functional but with a bit of flair. Rustic meets refined. Nature also greatly inspires me! I always, always have greenery throughout our home- real and faux.
What are your home décor essentials?
A neutral palette, wood accents, lots of cozy textures (pillows + throws) and antique/architectural accents that tell a story.
Any décor tips you can share for someone who wanted to refresh their space?
Start small and rearrange a corner or create a useful space where there wasn’t one before. This gets the creativity flowing and can inspire the rest of the room. Refreshing a space doesn’t have to be overwhelming or expensive! Simply changing out pillows/rugs/curtains can have a huge impact.
Describe your perfect Saturday?
Lazy morning, coffee, flea market, a little diy project, more coffee... pizza and movie with the family.

We are in the market for our forever home- so, stay tuned!

I’m passionate about encouraging friends to love the home they have- regardless of the situation. Home is what you make it and with a little creativity and a lot of heart you can have the home of your dreams- right now.
