How It Works

Three steps. No hassle.

Contact Us
Email support@a1homecollections.com with your order number and reason for return. Include photos if the item arrived damaged or defective. We'll respond within 24 hours with your return authorization.

Ship It Back
Pack the item in its original packaging (or a suitable alternative) and ship it to the address provided in your return authorization. We'll provide a prepaid shipping label for defective or damaged items.

Refund or Exchange
Once we receive and inspect the return, your refund will be processed within 5–7 business days to your original payment method. For exchanges, the replacement ships as soon as the return is received.

Return Eligibility

We accept returns within 30 days of delivery. Items must be in their original condition — unused or lightly used (we understand you need to try it out on your doorstep).

  • Unused or lightly used mats within 30 days
  • Damaged or defective items (at any time)
  • Wrong item received
  • Wrong size or color (if sent incorrectly)
  • Quality doesn't match product description

Not Eligible

  • Items returned after 30 days (except defective)
  • Heavily used or visibly worn items
  • Personalized or monogrammed mats (unless defective)
  • Items damaged by improper use or care
  • Items purchased through third-party retailers

Personalized items: Because monogrammed and custom-letter mats are hand-finished to your specification, they cannot be returned for preference reasons. However, if there's a quality defect or we made an error on the monogram, we'll replace it at no charge.

Want a different size, style, or design? We're happy to exchange within 30 days. The process is the same — contact us, ship back the original, and we'll send the new one.

  • Size exchanges: Same style, different size — no additional charge if price is the same
  • Style exchanges: Different design at the same price point — happy to swap
  • Upgrade exchanges: Want a larger or premium mat? Pay the difference only
  • Defective exchanges: Replacement shipped free as soon as the return is in transit

Damaged or Defective Items

If your mat arrives damaged or has a manufacturing defect, contact us immediately. We don't need you to jump through hoops:

  • Email us with photos of the damage or defect
  • We'll ship a replacement within 1–2 business days
  • Prepaid return label provided for the damaged item
  • No return deadline on genuinely defective products

Every A1HC mat passes a 20-point quality inspection before shipping. Defects are rare — but when they happen, we take full responsibility. No questions asked.

FAQs

Can I return a monogrammed doormat?

Only if it's defective or we made an error on the personalization. Because each monogrammed mat is hand-finished to your specification, we can't accept returns for preference changes on custom items.

What if I used the mat for a week and don't like it?

Light use is fine — we expect you to try it out. If the mat is in good condition and within 30 days, we'll accept the return. You'll cover return shipping for preference-based returns.

How long until I get my refund?

5–7 business days after we receive and inspect the returned item. Your bank may take an additional 2–5 days to post the credit to your account.

I bought my A1HC mat on Amazon. Can I return it here?

No — items purchased through Amazon, Home Depot, Wayfair, or other retailers must be returned through that retailer's return process. Our return policy applies only to orders placed directly on a1hc.com.

My mat is shedding — is that a defect?

Some minimal initial shedding is normal for all coir mats. However, A1HC mats are anti-shed treated, so shedding should be significantly less than standard coir mats. If shedding is excessive, contact us — we'll evaluate and replace if it's beyond what's normal.
